Explore the concepts of local farming, environmental impact and nutrition in the aisles of your local Mrs. Green's Natural Market
Through a variety fun and educational lessons, students experience first-hand how green is good. Mrs. Green’s Natural Market is proud to announce free interactive field trips reinforcing the benefits of organic food, healthy lifestyles, sustainability, responsibility for the environment and more.
On the "Think Global. Eat Local." Field Trip, students become master sleuths on a scavenger hunt for good nutrition. Each stop along the way reveals a key concept for healthy living. “Think Global. Eat Local.” revolves around students discovering healthy, sustainable choices...naturally.
Audience: Grades K - 3 (~60 minutes), Grades 4 - 6 (~90 minutes)
Group Size: 5 - 30 Students
⇒ Please note: A healthy snack will be provided at the end of each Field Trip at Mrs. Green’s. With the exception of pre-approved cases for allergies and other dietary concerns, please do not bring in outside snacks on this trip. Thank you.
- Nutrition: Identify the benefits of organic/natural products, working with farmers to sell local food and building smart meals with MyPlate
- Sustainability: Develop student connection to environmental responsibility with helpful tips and everyday habits that help the Earth
- Problem-Solving: Work together using critical thinking on a store-wide scavenger hunt
- Cooking: Gather ingredients to cook a healthy recipe in a safe environment
